Maiolika was founded by Sofia, a Sicilian entrepreneur deeply rooted in Italy’s agricultural and culinary traditions. Raised in a family of producers, she grew up immersed in the rhythms of the land and the value of honest, slow-crafted food. A well-travelled professional, Sofia has worked and lived abroad since young, gaining international experience that formed her vision for Maiolika. With a commitment to sustainability, quality, and heritage, she created Maiolika to bring these same products and stories to Singapore, without compromise, dilution, or shortcuts.

She wanted to bring the authentic taste of Italy to Singapore by sourcing directly from independent, family-run farms and artisanal producers, without intermediaries. We don’t rely on importers, distributors, or commercial trading houses. Instead, we work one-on-one with the people who grow, harvest, and craft each product, giving us full control over quality, traceability, and pricing. This approach also allows us to offer exclusive access to some of Italy’s most celebrated premium brands, available in Singapore only through Maiolika.
